É a primeira regata oficial sancionada pelo governo dos Estados Unidos da America do Norte entre as duas cidades em mais de 50 anos. O trajeto é de aproximadamente 90 milhas através do Estreito da Flórida até Cuba. É mais um passo importante nesse momento histórico de aproximação política entre os paises vizinhos. It is the first official regatta sanctioned by the government of the United States of North America between the two cities in more than 50 years.   The ride is approximately 90 miles across the Florida Straits to Cuba.   It is another important step in this historical moment of political rapprochement between the neighboring countries.
