Nicolas foi mais do que um grande velejador canadense: foi uma pessoa extremamente agradável, um amigo leal e uma presença sempre positiva dentro e fora da água. Sua paixão pela vela, seu espírito generoso e sua amizade sincera deixaram marcas profundas em todos que tiveram o privilégio de conviver com ele. Neste momento de dor, nos solidarizamos com toda a família Hobie Cat do Canadá e, de maneira muito especial, com sua esposa Laurence, a quem enviamos nosso carinho, força e conforto. Que as boas lembranças, o amor compartilhado e a certeza de que Nicolas foi muito querido por toda a comunidade da vela possam trazer algum consolo. Dear Hobie Cat family and friends, It is with great sadness that the Brazilian Hobie Cat Class Association received the news of the passing of our dear fellow cat sailor Nicolas Burlington, on January 13th. Nicolas was more than a great Canadian sailor — he was a truly kind person, a dear friend, and a wonderful presence both on and off the water. His passion for sailing, his generosity, and his genuine friendship left a lasting impression on all of us who had the honor of knowing him. In this moment of sorrow, we express our deepest solidarity with the entire Canadian Hobie Cat family and, especially, with his beloved wife Laurence. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy, strength, and affection. May the beautiful memories, shared love, and the certainty that Nicolas was deeply cherished by the sailing community bring some comfort during this difficult time.
